Gulfstream G650s popular on secondary market

The Gulfstream G650 is the most popular private jet currently on the market, so much so that several of them have already been flipped for a profit since the first one was delivered to Steve Wynn in 2012. Gulfstream does not have a problem with this occurring, saying that sales of new jets have not been affected by the resale of several private jets. With Gulkfstream currently backloaded with orders, people may be turning to the secondary market to expedite the buying process.

Private Jets a Status Symbol in China

Wealthy business people in China believe that private jets are a status symbol, and the country has seen a rise in sales of large-class business jets that can travel great distances. Despite the growth of the business jet market in China, the use of private jets is still complicated by the fact that the military controls the airspace, so securing flight clearance is not as easy as it is in the United States.

Three Reasons Private Jets Are the Safest Option

Many people suffer from anxiety when they are preparing to fly. It is reasonable to wonder about the safety of the aircraft you are about to board. Since private jets are often patronized by clients like CEOs and celebrities, the rare accidents that occur tend to be notable news items. This may give the false impression that private jets are less safe than commercial flights, when in fact, the opposite is true.

1. Private Jets Offer Uncompromised Security

Equipment malfunction and pilot error are some common fears passengers have, but security is perhaps the most important aspect of flight safety. Traveling on a commercial flight means you will be joined by dozens of other passengers, and your safety is as much in their hands as it is the pilot’s. The security of a private jet is unrivaled because it is completely uncompromised. You are far safer on a private aircraft since you and your party are the only passengers.

2. Private Charter Jets Rely on Reputation

Commercial airlines benefit from a team of legal and public relations professionals who work full-time to protect their corporation’s reputation for safety. Private jet companies are generally much smaller and lack the staff needed to promote a certain image. The reputation of a private jet company, then, relies entirely on its track record. Charter providers must keep passengers safe at all times because their reputation and existence truly depends on it.

3. Jet Charters and Commercial Flights Have Comparable Safety

Jets are safer than commercial flights because of superior security and a greater emphasis on reputation, but what do statistics say about the safety of private jets? Information varies from year to year, but recent calculations indicate that for every 1 million hours in the air, commercial jets reported 4.7 accidents, including ones involving helicopters. Commercial airlines have very close figures with 1.5 accidents for 1 million hours. Discounting accidents in helicopters, private jets have a nearly identical safety record to their commercial counterparts.

Travel for Business Like a Pro

Business travel can be a drag, especially if you are on the road for weeks on end, but there are ways to make it easier. Here are some methods frequent business travelers have found to reduce the stress and strain of spending time on work trips.

Take Steps to Reduce Jet Lag

Everyone deals with the adaptation to a new time zone differently, and some people are more affected by the switch than others. Figure out what works for you and be sure to follow those steps each time. Some people find that staying hydrated, taking red eye flights, or exercising the day they fly is beneficial.

Prepare Your Adapters

Check the electrical outlet options available at your destination and make sure you are bringing the right convertors in your luggage. You want to avoid the panic that could set in if you realize that you brought the wrong one at the moment your computer or phone runs out of power.

Bring a Protein-Laden Snack

Airports are sites of constantly changing circumstances and you never know what will happen or what kind of delay you could face. If weather conditions or other situations strand you, you do not want to be caught without food.

Try to Negotiate at the Rental Car Agency and Hotel

Even if your rental car agency will not upgrade your car for free, they might be willing to do it for a much lower price than what is quoted on the website, depending on what is available. Likewise, if your hotel room is located near the elevator and you would prefer another location, ask the desk agent if there is anything they can do. As with any situation, asking nicely is key.

Pack a Tennis Ball

To relieve the stress and tension that inevitably comes from travel, bring a tennis ball. This small, inexpensive and lightweight tool can be rolled under your feet, hamstrings, shoulders and other areas in order to reduce tight spots and make travel much easier.
