Duty-free products are those sold without taxes, tariffs, or other duties to international travelers with the goal of taking those products out of the country. Companies provide these “sales” under certain conditions.
Japanese duty-free shops require a passport showing a visit of less than 6 months, and has become part of the economy of the electronic shopping district in Tokyo. Thailand affects a duty-free sale by giving VAT refunds upon departure under similar conditions.
