Plan the Perfect Summer Vacation With This Convenient Checklist

Are you thinking about an adventure this summer? If so, you might be wondering how to start the planning process.

Planning a trip can be an intimidating task. It is easy to get overwhelmed, especially if you have not planned a trip before. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you plan the perfect summer getaway.

#1 Decide Upon a Destination

Figuring out where you want to go is the first step and also one of the most important steps in planning your trip. It is almost impossible to continue with the next steps until you know where you want to go.

The problem is that with so many great places to go, it can be hard to choose just one. Here are some questions to help you choose a destination:

  • Would you rather travel within the United States or internationally?
  • Do you prefer warm or cold weather?
  • Which is your idea of the perfect vacation: Spending time relaxing on a beach or taking in Broadway shows in the city?
  • Do you prefer historic or modern architecture?

Answering these questions can help you choose the perfect location.

If you prefer the beach and want to travel internationally, the Bahamas may be your ideal destination.

On the other hand, if you want to stay within the United States and experience high-energy excitement, then Las Vegas might be for you.

#2 Pick a date

Decide when you want to go. This is important as it will help you decide when to book transportation and accommodations.

Take the following things into consideration when choosing a date:

  • How much of a notice that you need to give to take off work
  • If you have children, do you need to schedule during their school holidays
  • Are you free to travel during non-peak times? If so, it can be much cheaper

#3 Choose Your Transportation

How will you get to your dream destination? For most travel, flying is ideal. But, flying commercial can be quite a hassle with the long security lines, tight restrictions on luggage and hidden costs.

As a result, private jet travel is becoming quite popular and for good reason.

Private jet travel is convenient and efficient. You do not have to fly out of a busy hub airport unless you want to. In addition, there are no long security lines or restrictions on luggage.

You can bring whatever you want on board, within reason. T

his comes in handy if you are taking a skiing trip to Colorado, as you can bring your skis or snowboard aboard a private jet without an additional charge.

Do you think that private jet travel is expensive? Think again. Many private jet companies offer last-minute deals on unused seats.

These last minute deals mean that you can often fly on a private charter jet for less than a commercial flight.

#4 Figure out Where You Want to Stay

Where you want to stay plays an important role in your trip planning process.

There are various types of accommodations available, from budget-friendly hostels to luxurious resorts. Take into consideration your budget and the type of traveling that you will be doing.

If you plan to do a lot of hiking and outdoor activities, for instance, you might want to choose an eco-hotel. While a beach resort might be a better choice for a surf vacation.

You Get Angry on Planes Here's Why

Air rage happens. But why does it happen, and how can it be stopped from spreading?

Studies have found that air rage is 4 times as likely to happen during flights with first-class cabins as those without first-class cabins. Just the existence of economically segregated seats is not the cause of this liklihood, but it brings about the cause.

Certain boarding patterns lead first-class passengers into their seats first. The next group to board is economy seating, and these passengers pass through first-class seating with those passengers relaxing and possibly enjoying a champagne.

By introducing the stark inequality between first-class and economy cabins to both groups of passengers a divide is made. This separation stirs air rage originating from both cabins. Economy guests see opulence right before being led to smaller seats and less comfort, and first-class guests may be lead to expect higher of the flight crew or experience with a sense of entitlement. Both groups of guests are more prone to air rage just by seeing each other.

Hypersonic Travel, is it Realistic?

More than a decade ago the Concorde flew its last supersonic flight. Too many regulations limited faster than sound flight to smaller and smaller portions of its journey, and the costs became too much for continued operation. Since then supersonic flight has been exclusive to fighter pilots and astronauts, and hypersonic flight past Mach 5 has been unattainable.

A collaborative science team from the United States and Australia have launched a mixture jet/rocket that reached Mach 7.5, 5,700 miles per hour, in trial. At this speed travelers could fly from Australia to the UK in roughly two hours rather than an all-day flight. A trip across the Atlantic Ocean would be minutes instead of hours.

Alex Zelinsky looked forward not just to air travel but also the future of space travel.

“the success of this test launch takes us one step closer to the realization of hypersonic flight. It is a game-changing technology…  and could revolutionize global air travel, providing cost-effective access to space.”

Word-Class Destinations for Family Summer Vacation Fun

No one needs to be reminded of how precious the fleeting moments of family vacations are. Those characteristically sultry days that just seem to whiz by year after year are critical to promoting healthy family culture. Subsequently, vacation planners everywhere take their best shots each summer to make the time with their families as memorable and impactful as possible. Here are some ideas for mapping out unforgettable vacation activities that could very easily become annual family traditions.

Breathtaking Outdoor Adventures
Aspen, Colorado will always be known for its first-class ski resorts, but the surrounding natural environment also lends itself to some great summertime fun. Since it is normally a good idea to survey a region’s landscape before exploring it in-depth, Aspen visitors have the option of taking off on one of the city’s spectacular hot air balloon rides. A typical tour of the stunning mountainous region begins at dawn and ends with a congratulatory champagne or sparkling cider brunch where participants receive official flight certificates as souvenirs. From above, tour guides can point out the best trails and scenic areas for days of biking, horseback riding and kayaking.

Yellowstone National Park is home to numerous species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles and birds. Park visits are ideal for families with children of all ages who are curious about the natural environment and its inhabitants. Besides the self-guided park activities, children can participate in special initiatives that are led by park rangers like the ranger adventure hikes, young scientist program and junior ranger program. All park events promote critical thinking skills, problem solving abilities and a respect for the environment.

Journeys in Experiential Learning
It’s generally true that many Parisians forsake the City of Light during the summer in favor of cooler climes near France’s Mediterranean coast. The warm-weather months offer Paris visitors rare windows of opportunity to explore the city’s famed design district without being crushed by crowds. Budding fashion and interior designers happily find that tours of textile boutiques can lead them all over the fascinating city. Families that want to get the most out of their haute-couture adventures book tours with knowledgeable guides (1) who are often design students at the local universities.

Everybody benefits from a household of skilled cooks, and families that choose to vacation in the lovely Riviera Maya region can imbibe in the area’s fresh produce while learning to make authentic Mexican cuisine. After playing and relaxing at one of the district’s famed beach resorts, many visitors report to the International Kitchen’s Riviera Maya cooking school campus (2) for four days of culinary cultural immersion into Mexico’s past and present.

Lend a Helping Hand
Taking a volunteer vacation is one way for families to reinforce their values relating to citizenship, social responsibility, environmental stewardship and compassion. Volunteers to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania (3) can personally interact with children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic. Those who choose assignments in Cartago, Costa Rica (4) can bring joy to the city’s often-marginalized elderly population through lunch visitation programs. Both of these regions offer first-class tourism activities in addition to opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the people who live in those areas.

Conclusion
Modes of modern travel put the world at the fingertips of adventurous vacationers. Families that strive to produce members who are imaginative and inquisitive thinkers have nearly limitless vacation possibilities.

Cruising out of Houston's Bayport Cruise Terminal? Consider Taking a Private Charter Flight

Cruises involve large investments. Most cruise lines require that passengers completely prepay by the time the cruise departs and there is no refund past a certain point usually a month before departure. That is why it is very important to ensure that you will arrive at the cruise port on time.
Although many people take commercial flights to cruise ports this is not the ideal way to travel. Commercial flights often have significant delays resulting in a missed cruise. There are a number of reasons why commercial flights are delayed including mechanical issues, crew issues, overbooking, TSA delays and so on. Recently there was a story in the Daily Mail about a woman who had a temper tantrum when her United Airlines flight was delayed by 12 hours almost resulting in her and her family missing their cruise. Even if the flight is on time your luggage may not arrive by the time the ship leaves. Then you might be stuck wearing the same outfit for your entire cruise. It is best to avoid the chance of your flight being delayed in the first place. So, how can you increase the chances of arriving on time for your cruise? Consider taking a private jet charter. In Houston private jets can fly into a number of different airports many of which are conveniently located to Houston Bayport. Here are more of the benefits of private jet charters.
Convenient

With private jets you fly when you want. You do not have to adjust your schedule to meet the needs of the airline. In addition private jets do not need the huge runways and employees offered by major airports. As a result they have the advantage of being able to fly out of smaller less crowded airports. You will also save time by not having to go through TSA or long check-in lines. This means that you can fly out the day of your cruise instead of spending time and money on a hotel room when you fly in the day before. In addition you do not have to wait at the baggage claim.
No Limit on Luggage

Most private jet charters have no limits on luggage. You can take as much as you want within reason. This is very important for a cruise. Most cruises are longer some 14 days or more. Many have dress codes and require bringing formal clothing for dinners on board. It can be very difficult and expensive to bring luggage that really needed for a cruise.
Private jet charters are ideal for travel to meet your cruise ship. They offer convenience, comfort and flexibility. In addition many charter companies offer great deals on unused inventory. Sometimes it is even more cost-effective to book a charter flight versus commercial when adding in the costs of baggage and excess fees.
