National Parks Track Visitors, Improve Services
In efforts to better understand tourists’ habits and improve provided services, various national parks across the country are utilizing movement tracking systems. Various parks are hoping that tracking visitors’ movements will help them not only to understand effects on the ecosystem but also to better provide necessary services and infrastructure, such as trails, restrooms, and parking areas. If you are traveling to a National Park this summer, there is a chance that you might be asked to participate in one such tracking study, though all participation is voluntary.
