A recent piece written by journalist Carl Lavin explains his time aboard the fighter jet with the Air Force Thunderbirds, professionals who perform shows each year. The demonstration flight took the group on high-speed turns, rolls, and loops, many of which give the feeling of 8.2X the force of gravity. Instructors on the flight not only helped the journalist to regulate his breathing during the challenging parts of the flight, but also explained each turn and force as the flight continued.
