Why Should Americans Travel More?
You’ve probably heard by now that 42% of Americans took zero vacation days last year, and the forfeited time-off benefits value over $50 billion. So why don’t Americans want to take the time to travel? Of course there is nothing wrong with working, but the benefits of taking time off are invaluable. If Americans took more vacation days, we’d be a happier, more stress-free country on the whole. Seeing the world gives us the opportunity to meet new people, see new cultures, and gain new understandings and worldviews. Learning new languages could lead to a more inclusive culture at home, and bringing back new cultural understandings could do the same. All countries and places have something to teach us and we will benefit tremendously from enjoying the world around us. So when will your next vacation be?
