Travel Booms As Retirees Stay Active
A survey conducted by AARP of individuals aged 45 and up has provided insight into the travel habits of retirees, many of whom are expected to take four or five trips in 2015. The baby boomer generation spends $120 billion per year according to AARP, and nearly half of those surveyed expect to travel more in 2015 compared to last year. Many will likely enjoy warm getaways during the winter months, and boomers are also headed overseas to Europe, the Caribbean, and South America, to name a few. The travel industry will continue to boom with these expectations of retirees staying active in the coming years.
