Tourist Attractions Come In Unlikely Form
While it may seem out of the ordinary, a number of places around the globe are turning abandoned mines into tourist attractions. A thrill ride winds through a mine below the mountains of Snowdonia National Park in Wales; a theme park below Transylvania, Romania boasts a bowling alley, ferris wheel, and mini golf course. Others allow touring and museums in honor of the former mines, and a Victorian-era slate mine in Wales has created a trampoline playground.
