Europe's Busiest Airports
According to Bloomberg News, London’s Heathrow Airport was again ranked the busiest airport in Europe, welcoming 73.4 million travelers, up 1.4% from 2013. Paris’s Charles de Gaulle Airport, Germany’s Frankfurt Airport, and Turkey’s Istanbul Ataturk Airport round out the top four. Istanbul has nudged Amsterdam’s Airport Schiphol out of fourth place as travel to and from Turkey has increased significantly in recent months. The Instanbul Ataturk Airport saw an 11% increase in passengers in 2014, proving that the Turkish city is not only a growing destination but also a transfer hub.
