European Union lawmakers have just enacted a new scheme to share airline passenger information in regards to fighters travelling from or to conflict areas.
Under this new plan, airlines are mandated to share passenger names, travel dates, itineraries, and credit card details with law enforcement agencies. This data will be collected on any flight originating in, leaving, or between EU member countries.
Opponents claim this data was already available, and that this new law will be a costly unused system.
