Chartering a jet to the Augusta Masters
Throughout the year, there are several major demand generators for private jet charters. The Masters in Augusta, Georgia is one of those events. Since our inception, The Early Air Way has been sending planes to The Masters year after year. We love doing it, and we know the ins and outs to private jet logistics at the event.
As we approach the first of four majors for the 2013 PGA Tour, excitement is starting build around who is going to be the champion of the 77th edition of The Masters and recipient of the green jacket. Whether you are coming to see Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson battle it out with the rest of the playing field, the par 3 competition or to see the pristine beauty and design of the Augusta National Golf Club, this is a must see event for 2013.
Designed by Bobby Jones and opened in 1933, the Augusta National Golf Club is a spectacle in itself and an incredible piece of artwork that should definitely be seen in person. The course offers 7,435 yards of immaculate design by Jones with notable sites, such as Amen Corner, Eisenhower Tree, and Ike’s Pond.
Events will kick off starting on April the 8th with a practice round continuing through the 10th. Inaugurated by Ben Hogan in 1952, the champion’s dinner will be held on Tuesday the 9th and the par 3 competition will be held on the 10th. The honorary tee shot is scheduled to tee off on April 11th and tournament play will continue through the 14th.
There are over 16 airports within a 50-mile radius of the August National Golf Club; with Augusta Regional Airport being the main one. During the event, the Augusta Regional Airport will be issuing landing slots. When landing slots are issued, the airport has the authority to change your scheduled arrival time into the airport, meaning that passengers, regardless of the source of their private jets, may be required to be both flexible and punctual with their departure times. Furthermore, advance bookings are STRONGLY recommended for flights to/from the Augusta Masters. Parking at the FBOs in Augusta will book up; and we’d much rather fly you into that airport than others that are further away.
For the golf fans out there, charter a jet to the Augusta Masters is an amazing experience. If you’re planning on flying private to the tournament, we hope you do so with The Early Air Way.
