The terrorist attack on Brussels last week hasn’t stopped the airport from returning. Reported recently, the Brussels airport has suffered damage to the departure hall so guests will be utilizing different accommodations for upcoming travels.
Any checked baggage will be doled out within an unused hangar as the normal baggage claim structure is returned to operations. Also any carry-ons will need to be toted down 3 flights of stairs as the escalators are non-functioning. As well as different routes through security and other areas, a make-shift check-in station has been erected with an accompanying baggage drop-off zone.
Private jets are the ultimate way to travel. The costs of private jet travel have been steadily decreasing recently, but the luxury and exclusivity of this form of travel remains the same. If you are thinking about pampering yourself with a private jet charter for your next vacation or business trip, read on to learn about the different types of jets available.
Light Jets and Very Light Jets
Very Light jets will typically accommodate three to four passengers. These cozy jets are ideal for shorter flights, typically two to three hours in duration. The Phenom 100 is a solid choice in the very light segment. The cabin was designed by BMW and features exceptional attention to detail and luxury. Four passengers can be comfortably accommodated. The Phenom 100 has a large enclosed lavatory. The baggage compartment is one of the best in its class.
Light jets accommodate six to eight passengers. These offer more room than a very light jet and are cost-effective, as well. If you’re looking for economical, fast transportation, a very light jet such as the Lear 35 is a good choice. Mid-Size and Super Mid-Size Jets
Mid-size jets offer speed, comfort and a longer flight distance than light jets. They are the most versatile private-jet size. These jets offer more space and features compared to lighter jets. Mid-size jets typically seat from seven to nine passengers. They often feature enclosed lavatories, stand-up cabins, advanced entertainment and more luggage space than light jets. The Gulfstream G150 is one of the more popular mid-size jets. It offers a spacious cabin, exceptional speed, good performance and a high-quality cabin.
Super mid-size jets accommodate eight to nine passengers. These jets offer high performance, roomy cabins at competitive rates. The Bombardier Challenger 300 is a super mid-size jet that offers superior comfort and performance. It has the ability to depart on challenging runways and offers great distance. The cabin is comparable to larger aircraft. Heavy Jets and Jumbo Jets
Heavy jets can accommodate 10 to 14 passengers comfortably. These jets have long-range capabilities and roomy cabins. First-class seating is available on most heavy jets. Full pull-out tabletops are available on most. Many contain private sleeping areas. Heavy jets typically employ one to two pilots and flight attendants to ensure that the needs of the passengers are being met.
Jumbo Jets are the largest aircraft and typically seat 20 to 60 passengers. The most popular jumbo jets used for private flights include the Boeing 727, Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737. These jets are ideal for large groups. Some of these jets include bedrooms, conference rooms and kitchens.

Renting a private jet may seem like something only rich people can do, but there are several advantages to traveling that way that can make it worthwhile for those of more modest means.
Comfort
When it comes to comfort while traveling on a plane, you can’t beat a private jet rental. You will get personal service from the minute you show up to the jet center until you disembark at your destination. This can include specialized meals, sleeping availability and a number of other amenities that you won’t get when flying commercial, even in first class.
Convenience
A private jet rental offers you a level of convenience that you can’t get flying commercial, even if you are part of special airline or government programs. With a private jet, you don’t have to worry about long ticketing or security lines or how much luggage you can bring along. You also will be traveling with only a few other passengers, some of whom you may know, so you won’t have to worry about unruly passengers.
Speed
Flying private is a huge advantage over flying commercial when it comes to speed. Though private planes travel at about the same speed as commercial airliners, you can get to your destination much faster by not having to connect through hub airports and you can save a significant amount of time by not having to go through baggage check or other procedures that can slow you down.
Safety
Though private jet travel is not quite as safe as commercial air travel statistically, it is much safer than general aviation overall. And most private jet rental programs let you have some say in the type of plane you fly in and its age, so you can feel confident that you are safe while flying.
With so many advantages to private jet rental, it is definitely worth your consideration. While it is not cheap, it is something that you don’t have to be fabulously wealthy to be able to afford.

A blending of cabin classes is happening. A new designer is proposing blurring the lines between economy class flight and private business class travel with a new integrated idea. This proposal would bring the world’s first lay-flat premium economy seats into the business class area.
The lie-flat configuration can be adapted to whatever the airline company prefers, but the proposed configuration has suites stacked slightly above the lay-flat seats to more effectively use the space. With the use of 3D modelling the suites should not interfere with passenger comfort in these new seats as is seen with today’s angled seats with foot wells underneath storage cubbies.
This idea is set to reduce the competitive gap between Middle Eastern carriers and Western carriers in terms of class of travel.
Private jet safety has been an issue for many years in order to product the public from the dangers of unscrupulous companies. The regulation of aircraft began in the United States during the 1920s after several aviation disasters occurred that led to deaths. Currently, there is an average of 7,000 fatalities each year because of the strict regulations in place. While this statistic may seem like a high number of deaths, it is a small percentage of the individuals who fly each year on all types of aircraft in the United States.
Standards of Safety
The companies that offer private jet charters are also held to a high standard of safety to protect consumers using services along with people on the ground who are at risk of injury or death when an aviation disaster does occur. Regulations are in place for a variety of private jet safety precautions, including:
• Choosing safe landing sites with proper lighting
• Using proper navigational gear
• Communicating flight plans with authorities
• Proper training for pilots
• Coping with lightning strikes
• Learning what to do if engines malfunction
• Keeping aircraft secure from sabotage
• Training in emergency evacuation
Private Aviation Safety Associations
When someone wants to hire a pilot and private jet, it is a good idea to check if it belongs to a safety association. Over 8,000 charter jet services belong to the nonprofit National Business Aviation Association that is headquartered in Washington DC. ARGUS International Inc., also provides a way for private jet charter companies to have its aircraft and employees audited by professionals.
The Auditing Process
Audits are completed on a regular basis with experts verifying that employees are trained and have no sanctions against them. Every part of an aircraft is inspected, including its instrument panel, propellers and engines. The interior of the aircraft is also inspected carefully to ensure there are no dangers that can lead to accidental fires or explosions. The auditors look at the flight plans used in the past and determine how pilots reacted to unexpected situations that required emergency adjustments.

Once well known for blandness and indifference, Ryanair is turning over a new leaf with a newly fitted corporate jet. In hopes to attract a better class of passenger, the Boeing Co. 737-700 has been upgraded with all-leather reclining seats and up to 3 times the space for each passenger.
Ryanair has added a fine-dinging catering facility to the plane and is actively targeting companies for rental of the craft. This looks like the beginning of a new focus on corporate flights from Ryanair.
Jet Hedging is a new program that may offer you substantial savings and other benefits if you are a jet-card holder or subscribe to fractional ownership. As a jet-card holder or fractional owner, you may not realize that you can benefit from on-demand private jet charters. You might assume that the fractional ownership program will always be the most economical way to fly private. But, that is not the case. This does not necessarily guarantee a better rate than an individually purchased charter. Jet Hedging is a viable, cost-effective alternative to offerings through jet cards and fractional ownership programs.
With jet hedging, you would submit your upcoming flight schedule to a private air charter company for an analysis of your flights. Many times, these comparisons are offered free of charge. The costs are compared for each flight on your schedule. The price of making the trip on a plane through your wholesale variable program is compared to the cost of using the fixed price program.
In the majority of the cases, the jet hedging option offers a better price. This program can save you 50 percent or more for the same type of aircraft on your trips. The savings can be greater for an empty-leg segment.
Jet hedging can offer you access to late-model private jets at substantial savings. It offers the service and safety of fractional aircraft ownership with the freedom and flexibility of an on-demand charter flight. With jet hedging, you can gain access to personalized service not available from a fractional program.
If you are a subscriber of a fractional ownership or jet card program, enhance your private jet travel experience and save money with jet hedging. A jet hedging program will ensure that you get the most out of your private jet experience. It allows the wholesale market inventory to get passed directly to you.

In a recent statement from Thomas Mangas, CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worlldwide, corporate travelers are looking for at least some of the amenities of leisure travelers. A new player in the hospitality industry, Generator Hostels, is ramping up to bring business travelers what they want in design, affordability, and experience.
Since its inception in the mid-1990s, the company has always offered an array of in-house programming such as live concerts, DJ parties, art openings and fashion shows. However, over the last few years, a growing volume of trendy corporate consumer brands have been booking the properties for their own special events in an effort to align with Generator’s hip brand experience.
Generator has said it will be more aggressive in catering to the events crowd in 2016.
Skyacht One is the 83 million dollar private jet designed by Eddie Sotto, a former experiential designer from Disney. The jet has been personalized to a level of luxury that would shock a Saudi prince.
The base model is an Embraer Lineage 1000E business jet, but has been stylized into a nautical and navigation theme. It has a handmade bronze clock intricately influenced by the Ducal Palace’s furniture, British campaign-style furnishings, and bejeweled and engraved controls of brass, gold, platinum, and silver. Wood accents litter the interior, intelligent lighting mimics the time of day, and a captain’s quarter master bedroom richly decorated.
When you are looking at choices to fly, you usually can choose from a commercial airliner or a private jet charter. To fully understand your options, you need to compare the pros and cons of both.
Convenience
When it comes to the convenience of flying, it’s hard to beat a private jet charter. With a commercial flight, you often have to show up at the airport an hour or more before your flight and wait in long lines at the ticketing counter and for security screening. Then you may wind up waiting for a significant amount of time before you can board your flight. With a private charter flight, you can show up shortly before your flight is to take off, don’t have to worry about any lines and can get in your seat right away.
Comfort
In a private jet, you either will be the only passenger or one of very few. There won’t be any cramped seats wedged in between strangers, and you will get personal attention from the flight staff that not even first class can provide on a commercial flight.
Speed
When you take a commercial flight, unless you are traveling between two large cities, you likely will have to connect at a hub airport and switch planes, this will add an hour or more to your flight. When you have a private jet charter flight, you can fly to any airport that can accommodate the size of plane you are on, which includes most general aviation airports around the country, which means it’s very likely you can fly direct, which will cut down on your travel time.
Cost
About the only advantage commercial flying has over a private jet charter is costs. Whereas a commercial ticket in coach class will cost you a few hundred dollars, the same flight on a private jet will cost a few thousand. However, if you have the means to pay for a private jet charter, the other advantages can be more than worth it.
