Don't be confused by the Learjet badging, the Lear 60 is not an updated version of the Lear 45; rather it is the predecessor to the Lear 60. The Lear 55 was manufactured between 1981 and 1991 and holds a place as one of the most popular midsize jets. Because of its popularity and longevity, Lear 55s remain quite popular on the charter market even today.

Lear 55s are fast and have good range and adequate baggage capacity. The standard Lear 55 has 5 captains chairs and a side-facing bench seat for 2. Like all midsize jets, the Lear 55 also has a fully enclosed lavatory.

Lear 55s are good aircraft to fly despite their age, though do keep in mind that they are older planes. As such, some Lear 55s are much nicer than others since restoration quality varies from aircraft to aircraft on planes of this vintage. If you want a midsize jet and you're flying on a budget, a Lear 55 can be an excellent choice.
