New Year, New You! New Places to Explore in the New Year

Every year, new hot tourist destinations pop up, and this year, there are many new places to explore. Here’s our favorite new travel destinations to consider.

Picture this: you, your favorite person (or not), and 365 days of new opportunities and new experiences to be had. Wide-open spaces, a blank canvas… this is what happens when a new year rolls around. But, you can’t spend all of this time in the same place, right? After all, what fun would that be? This new you in the new year needs to get out and to explore – discover places you may not have even known existed.

There is no better time to be alive than in the life you are living right now. So, choose your destination, pack your bags, book that chartered private jet, and don’t look back! You are making memories in this new year!

Oh yes – perhaps you need to know where to go, right? Well, good news – we’ve got you covered. Check out these amazing new places to explore that you won’t want to miss this year.

1. Ionian Islands

Depending on how well you were in all those geography classes in school, you may be scratching your head as to just where the Ionian Islands fall on the map. You will be happy to know that they are part of Greece and fall just to the west in the rightly-named Ionian Sea.

These islands offer a very peaceful, laid-back, and more affordable approach to Greece. Sure visiting Santorini is wonderful, but if you are looking for a trip off the beaten path with more new places to explore, then the islands are for you. While here, go hiking, hang out on the beach, go sailing, visit local shops 789and artisans, and more.

The best time to visit is really between April and October if you would like the chance to enjoy all the islands. Although, it is important to note that August is a no-go. Most Greeks travel to the islands during that time and the islands become an uncomfortable packed house. Try to avoid traveling here during this month.

2. Jamaica

Looking for a spectacular getaway throughout the year? Consider a visit to Jamaica. Located in the Caribbean, it does not matter what part of this island you decide to visit. You will encounter beauty at every turn.

Here’s what makes Jamaica some amazing – its topography gives you such a variety. Sure, there are beaches – some absolutely stunning beaches. But, although it is a Caribbean island, that is not all it has to offer. You will also discover what it is like to walk through a real rain forest and how delicious jerk seasoning is on everything. Of course, you can also…

  • Jump off the 35-foot cliffs at Rick’s Café
  • Go hiking through the Blue Mountains – camp, too.
  • Visit Bob Marley’s museum
  • Go rafting on the Rio Grande
  • Bobsled through Mystic Mountain
  • Swim with dolphins or while on the backs of horses (yes, these horses swim)
  • Look in awe at the waterfalls at Dunn’s River Falls

So much to do – and you can come anytime. Jamaica is where you should be this year.

3. Yosemite National Park, California

Ready to explore one of the most famous national parks in our country? Yosemite National Park is revered as one of the most breathtaking natural areas around. It’s a valley, there is granite everywhere – even high above, tunnels, and waterfalls you will melt for.

You can camp, hike, backpack, and so on while here. And, many people spend a couple of days maneuvering around the different areas of the park. After all, did you know that Yosemite encompasses over 1,100 square miles?

If you are looking for some time to unplug and enjoy nature, then this is a great destination for you. And, because it is still in the U.S., it makes a wonderful getaway for a long weekend this year. The best time to visit? April to November – and always attempt to get there before 9 am so you can beat the crowds.

4. Paraty and Ilha Grande, Brazil

These two cities, close to Rio de Janeiro, complement one another well. And, if you are looking to get away outside of the big city feel, then they may very well be just what you are looking for. As close as they are, however, they each offer you something scenic and completely different.

In Paraty, you will encounter a quaint community with cobblestone roadways and charming architecture. It’s quiet and it’s artsy. You can

  • Wander the streets (since the cobblestone roads are closed to cars)
  • Visit some beautiful beaches
  • Enjoy some breathtaking waterfalls
  • Tour – and sample – the local cachaça distilleries

In Ilha Grande, you will find an even calmer experience. Here you will find white sandy beaches, free and plentiful wildlife, and the most naturalistic beauty with:

  • Boat trips
  • Drinks along the oceanfront
  • Days spent snorkeling or scuba diving with the brightly-colored fish and reefs

What a place for memories in the new year! Visit anytime, but the best time to do so is April through October!

5. Finger Lakes, New York

Looking to get away stateside? Then consider visiting Finger Lakes. Located in Ontario County, New York, the best part about this area is that you can visit any time of year – because each season has its perks.

  • During the winter months, there is skiing, ice skating,  and even ice fishing.
  • Activities during the warmer months allow for time on the lakes kayaking, boating, and the like.
  • Oh, and did we mention that there are 130 wineries in the area to explore, too?

There is something fun for everyone in Finger Lakes – all throughout the year. This area has access to 5 of the 11 Finger Lakes. If you are feeling extra ambitious, why not travel a little more, perhaps head over our northern border, and experience them all?

Conclusion

Well, it’s a new year and you are off on new adventures, right? Where will you choose? Or, better yet – why not visit all of these destinations and more? With a private jet, you can have more time to explore thanks to the flexibility and ease of access.

So, go on – get packing those bags! And, have an adventurous new year of memory-making!

Are Guided Vacations The Best Way to Travel as a Family?

Traveling with family is so much fun, yet it can be stressful as well. How can you make sure that each family member has fun and gets to participate in activities they enjoy? Guided vacations may be the answer.

So you are looking to get away on a nice vacation with your family, but you are not interested in all the legwork that it requires. And we aren’t talking about hitting up the gym.

If you have ever planned a vacation – from start to finish – then you know just how time-consuming and mind-boggling the whole procedure can be. But, imagine doing the same thing, but involving your family.

You no longer just have to worry about keeping yourself busy, happy, and safe, but you also have to worry about your significant other and your kids. And, if your kids vary greatly in age, that can be even more challenging.

What Are Guided Vacations?

Before you spend hours of your time planning or decide to forego the wonderful summer family vacation altogether, you should know about a new, trendy travel method that could just ignite a spark in your family’s travel desires. Are you ready?

Guided vacations.

Yep. It’s true. Those two words can save the day when it comes to family travel this summer. We’re going to show you how.

But first, what are guided vacations?

This new trend of travel lets you sit back and enjoy the ride, without all the stress. It includes planned accommodations and itineraries, arranged transportation, set tours, and local knowledge of the area. This may be the perfect way for your family to travel this summer, and for good reason:

1. Keep It Safe

If you have watched any sort of news these days, safety seems to be on everyone’s mind. When it comes to traveling with your family, you want to make sure that everyone will be safe.

Unfortunately, when you travel to areas you are not familiar with, you are simply a stranger relying on reviews from websites like TripAdvisor or Yelp.

When it involves the whole family, you want to make sure everyone is safe and out of harm’s way. By investing in a guided vacation, you have the benefit of insider knowledge.

The local guides know the ways to stay safe and the areas to avoid. They will get you where you need to go in the safest manner. And, are there to answer any questions you may have about the area.

2. Keep Everyone Happy

There are few things worse than dragging the entire family halfway around the world for a magnificent experience and have to hear the complaints of your two grumpy teenagers.

Guided vacations are planned to keep everyone happy – even those you haven’t seen smile in a while. They have age-appropriate interests that are sure to be a blast. And, the choices available are all going to be dependent on where you travel.

The idea is to get everyone involved and finding enjoyment together while doing things you may not have otherwise selected.

When it comes to booking guided vacations with kids, you will see that the experiences are often more hands-on and include physical involvement, rather than sitting still. In fact, they are designed for families with children.

3. Save Your Money

Rather than independent travel, guided vacations are absolutely able to help save you money. Just as with many purchases, choosing several items al la carte can end up costing you more than if you invest in a package deal.

When booking your guided vacation, you may even find that you can enjoy even more experiences and still pay less than booking them individually.

Let’s say, for example, that you choose to book your experiences on your own prior to or when you arrive at your destination. Now, you may think that you are prepared with museum tickets and other event tickets.

However, when you get there, you quickly learn that there is:

  • A transportation fee
  • A gate fee,
  • Required food fees, and more

These end up costing you more than expected – and may even dip into money that you didn’t have.

With a guided vacation, you would not have to worry about extra costs – everything is included in the price.

4. Enjoy Cultural Experiences

In order to get up close and personal with a different culture, you must immerse yourself in that culture. But, this is not always easy when you don’t know anyone.

With a guided vacation, you are guided by the locals – the experts. They will teach you the way of the local culture and give you as close of an experience as possible.

Remember travel brochures can’t give you the whole picture. For example, the brochure or infographic can show you a popular local meal, but a guided vacation can allow you to smell it, taste it, and enjoy it. And, that is a big difference.

5. Reduce the Stress – Enjoy the True Definition of Vacation

As we have already discussed, planning a family vacation can be so stressful. Traveling alone or with a significant other does not always require a planned-out itinerary.

But, when you are traveling with kids, it is important to know exactly what you are doing and what will be involved. This way you can make sure your kids are prepared – and that you have it together.

So, before leaving for vacation, you must make sure you – and the kids – are packed and ready to go.

  • You must also make sure you have an appropriate itinerary that is going to allow your family to see everything the destination has to offer without going over budget.
  • Making sure the kids are happy with your choices along the way is important, too.

Forget all this stress and go with a guided vacation. Let this remind you what a true vacation is supposed to feel like. You just have to pack your bags and show up. Stress-free and full of relaxation.

6. Leave it to the Travel Experts

Let’s face it. You may be very good at what you do, but when it comes to planning things to do for a week in a place you have never been – you may as well pass the torch on to someone better equipped: a travel expert.

This person is getting paid to plan your guided vacation – so sit back and let it happen.

Conclusion

Are you ready to take a family vacation to kick off the end of summer and impending new school year? D

o so with some fun and great memory-making – with a guided vacation. And, you may as well get it all started by booking a private jet charter.

Guided vacation with a private jet is the best way to travel as a family this summer.

What is the Best Place to Travel in Hawaii?

As summer approaches, many people see this as the best time to visit Hawaii; but with so many options, how do you choose the best place to travel in Hawaii?

Are you ready to travel somewhere unforgettable? There are many places around the globe that offer amazing opportunities to create some magnificent memories. The idea is to find that one place that is calling you.

If you asked a great majority of individuals over the last few decades, they will tell you that such a place is Hawaii.

Does this sound like you? Is Hawaii a destination that you have always wanted to visit?

Deciding the Best Place to Travel in Hawaii

While the idea is great, booking the trip may seem a bit daunting. Think about it – there are eight islands that make up the great state of Hawaii.

Eight!

How do you even know where to begin when booking your Hawaiian vacation? Which is the best place to travel in Hawaii?

This is a very popular question. So, to help you out, we are just going to tell you.

Ready?

You are going to want to visit Maui. And, here’s why.

Why Maui?

As we said,  you have a choice when it comes to traveling to Hawaii. Unless you are wanting to do a long, island-hopping vacation, choosing a destination that has everything you want may be more enjoyable. And Maui has it all.

Ask yourself this: What am I looking for on my Hawaiian vacation?

  • Are you going because you want to see the landscape?
  • Is it because you’d love to immerse yourself in the culture?
  • Are you interested in simply relaxing on a gorgeous beach?

Your reason doesn’t matter because you will find it all on Maui, which is why it is one of our favorite places to travel to in Hawaii.

This island wasn’t voted the “Best Island In the World” 16 times by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine for nothing!

4 Parts of Maui

One of the reasons Maui is the best place to travel in Hawaii is due to its variety of options. It is the part of Hawaii that can offer you any experience that you want.

1. Western Maui

Here, you will find vibrant communities that have been visited by many tourists over the years. There is a resort area, small towns, and more. You will be able to indulge in delicious dining, shopping, and soak up breathtaking sunsets.

2. South Maui

This is where you want to head to sneak away and relax. Find yourself a spot on the beach and get lost. This area has some resorts but is not as bustling as western Maui is.

3. Upcountry

This is a part of Maui that offers a look at some amazing historical landscapes. With rolling hills and mountains, here is where you will see the heart of Maui – and Hawaiian cowboys, farmland, and more.

4. Eastern Maui

Head here for the lusciously green views that will surpass anything you have seen thus far in life. Rainforests, waterfalls, and exotic beaches will take your breath away.

Things to Do in Maui

When you travel to Maui, you are likely prepared to spend a lot of time outdoors. After all, there are so many adventures awaiting you here.

  • Head to the beach. The island is surrounded by beaches and each offer something different. Depending on what you are looking to do, you will find the perfect beach for you. You can relax in the sand and let your senses take everything in.
  • Hit the water. Go surfing (or take a lesson), snorkeling, scuba diving, bodysurfing, windsurfing, or simply swimming.
  • Go horseback riding or hiking.
  • Visit local farms in the upcountry.
  • Visit Haleakala National Park. The home of the dormant volcano can not only allow you to experience the best sunrise, but the views of the craters, streams, and so forth are amazing.
  • Attend a luau.
  • Zipline over the rainforest while enjoying the views of at least one waterfall.
  • Spend a morning on the green and go golfing.
  • Make the drive to Hana. Its magnificent – and not to be missed.

Of course, if you need a break from outdoors, you can always enjoy some shopping and dining – maybe even a spa day – around the resort areas. You will also find some gems in the more remote areas, too.

Need-To-Know Maui Travel Tips

1. It can take a while to get around the island

The roads are few and the traffic is not bad, but the distance from one part of the island to the other can take some time. Just be prepared. You may want to invest in a rental car so you can experience everything Maui has to offer.

2. Use “reef safe” sunscreen

Be a polite tourist. Don’t travel to see some magical wonders and damage it by your poor choices. This sunscreen is simply one that has an active ingredient of non-nano Zinc oxide or non-nano Titanium dioxide. Here is a list of a some popular, reef safe, sunscreen options:

3. Maui can be expensive

However, it is really only as expensive as you make it. If you think about it, a lot of the food and products sold have to be first shipped to Hawaii. This alone is going to affect the cost of goods. The real expense, though, comes when visiting the resort areas. The following will be much pricier in the resort areas:

  • Dining
  • Shopping
  • Attractions, and so forth

If you are looking to budget your vacation – head to other areas of the island. Not only will you save money, but you will get a chance to experience a real Maui culture. And, well that is pretty important, right?

4. Direct flights to Maui can be hard to find.

To save yourself time and aggravation when traveling to Maui, choose a private jet charter to get you to Hawaii. Depending on where you are staying, you will be able to choose from 3 airports (rather than only the main airport).

  • This gets you closer to your destination. And, it gets you started on your vacation sooner!

Conclusion

Of course, every island of Hawaii is beyond incredible, but the best place to travel in Hawaii is Maui (at least, in our opinions!).

Check out each of the 4 locations of Maui and take it all in!

Well now that you know where you are traveling, and how you are getting there, all that is left to do is pack your bags! Aloha!

5 Things You Should Never Do When You Travel

After traveling a lot, it’s easy to become familiar with travel do’s and dont’s. But many people don’t travel often. So we created this list of 5 things you should never do while traveling.

Traveling is fun and exciting; it is an adventure that lets you see the world and gain experience. But it can also be expensive and confusing – especially when you travel abroad.

There are certain things that you should know and be prepared for.

And, there are also certain things you shouldn’t do.

Without doing a bit of research before you go, you may end up wasting time, money, and opportunity.

Of course, there are things you should never do while you travel, too.

Since we always worry about what we should do rather than what we shouldn’t do, we thought we’d fill you in on today’s travel no-no’s.

1. You Should Never Spend All of Your Time near Tourist Spots

Tourist traps are called this for good reason. Locals know where to find the naïve tourists looking to gain cultural experience – and willing to pay for it.

Sadly, the “cultural experience” you receive is a watered-down version of reality.

Choosing to shop, eat, and sleep near these areas means that you will end up spending more money than necessary. And, the experience isn’t even all that legitimate.

When traveling, be sure to get an authentic experience by immersing yourself in the local culture.

  • Eat where the locals eat and stay off the beaten path.
  • Ask locals where they spend their time, where they like to shop, and what they like to do.
  • You may be surprised at how much money you will and how many amazing experiences you will have.

2. You Should Never Book Your Travel Without Seeking All Your Options

There are many ways to travel. Commercial and private aircraft, cruise ship, train, automobile, etc.

Don’t jump at the first thing you see because it looked cheap. Consider all of your options.

You may find that there are unknown or budget-friendly airlines that can give you the best deal, but you won’t necessarily find them on major search engines.

Likewise, private aircraft also allows you to score some deals. This is especially true if you are traveling with a group or find an available empty leg special.

For those traveling through Europe, you may want to consider the same.

  • Traveling via train is typically the most common options.
  • However, empty leg specials on private jets could get you where you are going faster, cheaper, and in luxurious style.

The point? Keep your travel options open.

3. You Should Never Buy from Any Store That Isn’t Local

First, your plan to travel to your destination did not likely come with the thought that you’d like to see the commercialized version and never truly see anything.

So, why go to the country and spend your money for generic items that were made in other countries?

Here’s an example.

1. When traveling to Spain, you decide to make a stop at a souvenir shop outside of the Alhambra.

2. You see floor to ceiling souvenirs screaming “Pick me! Pick me!”

3. When you finally find an Alhambra replica that you want to purchase, you flip it over and it says, “Made in China.”

4. Is that how you want to always remember your trip to Spain? Not likely.

Move to a different part of town and you can find a local market with booths set up selling handmade necklaces, purses, and the like.

Local, handmade items that are not mass-produced all over the world.

Choosing to make your purchase here means that you are supporting the local economy. You also have the added benefit of purchasing an authentic souvenir.

4. You Should Never Travel Without a Backup Plan

As soon as you leave home, you need a Plan B.

We want you to have the most amazing and memorable trip ever.

Unfortunately, what we want and what actually happens are two different things.

Sometimes life gets in the way.

Accidents happen. Thieves happen. Natural disasters happen. And, so much more.

When you are miles away from home and something happens to you, you better have a plan in place.

1. When traveling abroad, be sure to have a spare copy or two of your passport and travel itinerary. (It is a good idea to leave a copy of this with a trusted person back home, too, just in case).

2. Know how to get in contact with your local Embassy while traveling, in case of emergency.

3. Never carry all of your money and credit cards together in one place.

4. If you become the victim of a pickpocket or purse snatching, then you are left with nothing. It is a good idea to spread these items around in multiple locations on your person and in a secret compartment within your luggage.

5. You Should Never Rush When You Travel

Slow down.

Enjoy your travels and the experiences you are privy to.

Rushing isn’t going to speed up time. Instead, all it will do is get you worked up, anxious, and frustrated. And, it will likely cause your positive mood to go sour.

Consume yourself and your actions with everything going on around you.

  • Meet locals.
  • Learn your way around a new city.
  • Eat some delightful ethnic food.

Whatever you do, just do it without a time constraint. Leave the play-by-play itineraries at home.

When you arrive at your destination, visit the local tourist bureau and discover all the must-see things to do and local events.

Then, just do it.

You will realize that by not living by the clock you are able to better enjoy all that your destination has to offer – and you will begin to see your body (and mind) truly relaxing.

Conclusion

There are many things that you should do when you travel – and many that you should not.

Don’t waste time, money, and energy on the latter. Instead, take in the experience.

Fly a private jet. Stay in a hostel. Make a new friend. Discover hidden gems at every stop.

You only live once – and that life goes by faster than you can imagine.

So, get out there and see the world while you can.

Some people prefer to get into nature and spend some time in quiet solitude. Or, bond with close loved ones over a campfire.

If this sounds like something you would enjoy, then why not let it be how you celebrate 2019? If this sounds fun, then traveling to national parks for your new year’s destinations is the best bet.

There are many national parks all over the United States, from Yosemite National Park to Yellowstone to the Everglades, the Grand Canyon, and Stone Mountain Park.

5. New York City

You have likely watched the celebrations from New York City on TV at some point in your life.

You know that they have major street parties, lots of celebrities, and a ton of people. Spending your New Year’s Eve here may require you to get there early and fight major crowds, but it is also a once-in-a-lifetime trip that you should experience.

You know, something you can look back on and say – yea, I was there for 2019. Even if you’d never do it again.

There is something to be said, though, about celebrating in the Big Apple.

It is an epic time that goes to great lengths to ring in the new year in style. After all, why else would it be one of the most well-known New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world?

6. Paris

They call it the City of Lights. And, on New Year’s Eve, does it ever light up the sky.

The Eiffel Tower is home to a huge firework display and light show that make for an unforgettable experience.

You will also find street parties with lots of champagne flowing. Parisians like to pass out little, wrapped chocolates called papillotes which sound like a crackling firecracker as you open them.

In Paris, you will also find more laid-back things to do, such as a dinner cruise on the Seine.

There is something for everyone here – including cheeky kisses as the clock strikes midnight.

7. Miami

Perhaps you’d prefer a more tropical escape to ring in the new year. If so, then Miami may be your answer.

Here you will find glitzy hotels, sparkling beaches, and party after party along the beachfront strip.

You will find free festivals and those that require a huge VIP deposit. There are celebrities and locals and everyone in between.

If you are looking to spend your time celebrating sans winter coats, you will love it here.

Check out the many dancing and partying hot spots, take a boat ride, and watch fireworks – all along the Atlantic Ocean.

If you are lucky, it may even be warm enough to take a dip!

Conclusion

Find a way to spend your New Year’s Eve that will create lasting memories for you.

You don’t have to do the same, boring thing year in and year out. Mix it up. Visit different new year’s destinations.

See how the rest of the world is ringing in 2019. And, of course, if you’d like to do so in style – then charter a private jet to get there.

Make the upcoming year your best yet by choosing to kick it off doing something amazing.

How to Plan and Prepare for Summer Travels

Summer is the perfect time to get out and explore the world. Time off from school combined with the beautiful warm sunshine, you’ve got yourself the winning combination for perfect summer travels.

All you need to do is decide where your travels will take you.

And, then, of course, you need to get prepared.

There is a lot of packing and planning that goes into a successful vacation.

We’ve got you covered this summer. Here is the ultimate guide to preparing for your summer travels.

5 Steps to Prepare for Summer Travels

Vacations are the best time to unwind, relax, and take a break from everyday life.

However, planning a vacation itself can become stressful and tiring.

Luckily, there are only five key steps when planning and preparing for your summer travels:

  1. Book your accommodations based on your personal preference
  2. Research the destination itself: weather, packing necessities, etc.
  3. Do a safety check
  4. Call both your cell phone carrier and your banks
  5. Prepare your home for your absence

These five steps will help you to successfully prepare for your summer travels so that you can sit back, relax, and enjoy your trip.

1. Book your travel accommodations

Once you know where you are going, you will need to book your travel accommodations. Many people search for the algorithm that will provide them with the best price.

However, booking well in advance can generally ensure you are getting a good deal.

You have a choice as to how you would like to travel, whether it be by land, air, or sea. This will,of course, be determined by your destination.

Keep in mind that if you want to make the most of your vacation time at your destination, you will want to travel to and from rather quickly.

Perhaps your best choice for travel would be via a chartered private jet. These small places can get you from point A to point B rather quickly. And, they do not require rigid travel guidelines or forced TSA checkpoints.

In addition, depending on where you are traveling, these private jets can get closer to many destinations by making use of smaller, business/executive airports.

Getting there is only half the battle. Once you get there, you are going to need a place to stay.

Do your research. Read reviews, talk to well-traveled friends and family, and discover the best place for your needs.

Then, book your summer travels.

2. Plan for your destination

Where are you going? What will the weather be like? Do you need to take anything special?

These are the questions you should be asking yourself.

Every destination is different, so take the time to do some diligent research before you travel.

  • Learn what you should and should not bring to the destination.
  • Discover what is easier to purchase once you arrive, rather than carry with you.
  • Make an itinerary and include the things you’d like to do each day. Then, pack your clothing accordingly. This includes your shoes and accessories.

Write everything down.

Lists may seem time-consuming and wasteful but consider them to be a great safety net should you start to forget something.

3. Do a safety check

A safety check is important to do before any summer travels.

Understand the safety risks and be prepared for them.

Discover what areas to avoid, what areas are safe and any local tourist warnings, if given.

The more knowledge you have, the safer you will be on your trip.

Consider these tips:

  • Make a copy of your itinerary and other travel information and leave it with a trusted friend or relative. (Especially when traveling abroad).
  • Don’t carry all your money and credit cards in one place. If, for instance, you lose your wallet, you will still have backup funds.
  • Don’t always trust your GPS. Always have a backup map (the old paper kind) and always let someone know where you will be going.
  • Be sure to have a cell phone charger with you at all times – and a backup battery, if possible.

If you are traveling abroad:

  • Know the ins and outs of where you are going. So many acceptable things we do in the United States can be taken as repulsive abroad. The last thing you want to have to worry about when traveling is offending the locals or finding yourself in a bit of a situation with the local authorities.
  • Check with the CDC and WHO to see if you need any vaccines prior to traveling or if there are any health risks for the region.

These are basic steps that you should take while traveling to stay safe.

4. Call your cell carrier and banks

Have you ever tried to use your Visa card while traveling away from home?

If you have, you may have found yourself red-faced in the checkout line, as your card is declined.

Oftentimes, as a means of protection for their customer, banks and credit card companies will place a hold on the card used outside of the home area until they can verify the legitimate transaction.

Be proactive and call the banks of the card or cards you intend to use prior to traveling.

Let them know the dates you will be traveling and where you will be.

That way, when you go to use your card, you will not have to worry about an embarrassing declined transaction.

If you will be traveling abroad, you may also want to make a call to your cell phone company.

This will ensure you are on the best plan for usage away. Coming home to an expensive phone bill after a vacation is never desired.

In a nutshell? Be proactive and save yourself time, money, and embarrassment on your summer travels.

5. Prepare your home

Traveling is exciting.

And sometimes, we are so focused on the vacation that we forget the important steps to take in our home before we leave.

When preparing to leave, be sure to do the following at home:

  • Take out your trash.
  • Do not post on social media about your travel plans.
  • Unplug unnecessary electrical equipment.
  • Suspend your mail and newspaper delivery.
  • Move your hidden spare key, if you have one.
  • Leave a light on inside.

Consider asking a trusted friend or neighbor to check on your place while you are gone.

Summer traveling can be fun for the whole family, leading to bonding, new experiences, and great memories.

But, it will all go a bit smoother if you are prepared for it in advance.

Book your travel accommodations then start prepping for your trip.

Then, rest easy and enjoy your vacation knowing that you and your home will be safe while away.

Happy summer travels!

How to Get the Best Summer Vacation Deals

Summer is right around the corner. So, if you are looking to book a trip for an unforgettable vacation, you may want to start now. This is especially true if you are looking to score some summer vacation deals.

If you think for a moment just how many people choose the summer for their vacation – especially since the weather is often more cooperative and the kids are out of school – you will understand why the tourism industry often seems greedy at this time.

However, knowing the inside scoop on how to score the best summer vacation deals can save you a ton.

Be flexible with your travel dates

If you want to score the best tickets for traveling to your summer destination, it is incredibly important that you be flexible with your travel dates. By allowing some leeway on the actual days of travel, you are opening yourself up for some great deals.

Generally, there has been a trend in the cheapest travel days. These days tend to fall on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, followed by Thursdays and Saturdays.

However, most travelers still tend to book flights on a Friday or Sunday – which often happen to be the time when you will encounter the highest offered fares.

Be flexible with your travel dates and you be surprised at how much you can save.

Be open to new destinations

Have you ever considered trying a new destination? Perhaps one you have never been to or a location that is off the beaten path.

You should – they can provide you with summer vacation deals. You will save a ton of money by doing so. Here’s why:

  • There are many undiscovered destinations that offer so much to those who visit but haven’t quite made it mainstream yet.
  • Then there are other locations who are up and coming – trying to transition their destination into a future popular tourist hotspot.
  • And, of course, there are those destinations that have availability on flights that are looking for last-minute travelers to book.

Whether you choose to do your research and book a destination that is a little less-traveled or you choose to play vacation roulette at the last minute and travel to the destination with the available flight and at a great price, being open to traveling to a new destination may save you some big bucks.

Travel to smaller airports

Believe it or not, there are often many airports to choose from when traveling to a particular destination.

Most people are aware of the major airports but overlook the smaller ones entirely. That is where you can find summer vacation deals.

Consider traveling via a chartered private jet to smaller, local airports. In addition to potentially getting you closer to your destination, traveling in this manner has a lot of perks. Such as:

Local airports are smaller, less traveled, and provide a greater ease of access – to both the flight and the destination.

Larger, commercial airliners cannot land at these airports, thus keeping foot traffic to a minimum.

Do not dismiss this idea – chartering private jets is more affordable now than it has ever been. This is a terrific way to find enticing summer vacation deals.

Choose alternate lodging

One of the greatest expenses for many folks who travel for summer vacation is lodging. And, the longer you stay, the more cost you will pay.

Spending money in this manner may take away from the number of experiences or excursions you can take while on vacation.

To lessen the cost of lodging and make your vacation more affordable, choose alternative lodging.

This may include renting through services such as Airbnb, camping (or glamping), a Bed and Breakfast, or even a hotel that may not be as fancy as you are used to. Face it, you don’t have to stay in 5-star hotels to have the best vacation. After all, vacations are about experiences – and those happen outside of your lodging.

Use social media to your advantage

Social media can be a curse somedays, but it can also be a blessing when it comes to finding summer vacation deals.

There are some perks to all your friends’ postings and all the ads that appear as you mindlessly scroll. You can use them to your advantage by checking out the pics and check-ins that your friends post from their vacations. This will give you ideas for destinations to look into.

In addition, the more you search for deals, the more smart technology will present you with ads for them.

These will show up on your social media sites. Use them to obtain discounts and experience packages that can save you money on your summer vacation.

Credit card loyalty programs offer summer vacation deals

A great place to turn for travel deals and savings is your credit card companies. Many of these companies offer loyalty programs that can be put towards summer vacation deals.

The more you spend, the more perks you are privy to. For example, using your credit card may earn you:

  • Discounts on accommodations, rental cars, or theme park admission.
  • Free nights in hotels.
  • Dining discounts.
  • Money earned if your card is used while on vacation.

Each loyalty program is different. Some will get you bonuses before you travel. Others will do so while you are traveling.

Be sure to contact your credit card companies to see if they offer any specials for loyal members that you may be unaware of. Then, take advantage of them.

Summer vacations are meant to be fun and memorable. However, there is a fine line between splurging on the experience and not breaking the bank.

By booking your summer vacation using some smart moves – such as being flexible with your travel times and destination, using loyalty rewards, choosing to fly a chartered jet to a smaller airport, and so forth – you can save money and enjoy the vacation of a lifetime.

5 Amazing Benefits of Chartered Vacations

Some people can take vacations at any time, but others do so when summer vacation hits. And, summer is rapidly approaching. There are many therapeutic benefits of vacation, and this year, you can utilize these perks with chartered vacations.

That means it is time to get researching and planning – you know, the answers to the questions: When are you able to take your vacation? Who is going to go? Where are you going? What will you do when you get there?

But, what if you had the opportunity to travel at your own leisure to places that other tourists can’t easily get to? You can, with chartered vacations. No longer is this something that requires an incredible budget or an inside connection.

You can charter a flight. Yes, you. In fact, you can even charter your entire vacation. And we’ve got a list of reasons why you’d want to.

So, check it out and then begin doing your research and hit the skies.

De-stress as soon as you board your flight

If you are like many people, the most stressful part of a vacation is the traveling. And this includes commercial airline travel.

You need to arrive at the airport well in advance of your flight, stand your place in the security line, wait at your gate for your flight to be called, and then – finally – begin the boarding process.

It is not over, though. You then will wait through the long event of all passengers finding their seat location, storing their carry-on baggage in the appropriate manner, and eventually getting situated in their seat for the flight ahead.

It is no wonder why stress levels rise while traveling.

Choosing to travel via a private, chartered flight means that you can avoid all the stress of commercial flying. No long security lines and no rigorous boarding process – just you, a handful  of other lucky passengers, and your private jet.

Luxuries, of course, will depend on the jet, but you can rest assured that you will have a much more peaceful trip than any commercial flight can offer you.

Chartered vacations let you travel to unusual destinations

The majority of vacation seekers will hit up tourist destinations that are accessible by commercial airliners only. If you are wanting your vacation experience to be outside the box, then you may want to consider destinations that cannot be accessed by commercial flights.

A few of these are:

  • Norman’s Cay or Deep Water Cay in the Bahamas can provide you with a taste of the tropics.
  • See the Taj Mahal in Agra, India.
  • Indulge in the elegance that is found in Catalina Island, California.
  • Go skiing in Telluride, Colorado.
  • For an unforgettable experience in the Swiss Alps, you can travel to St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Traveling off the beaten path can give you an experience like you have never imagined. And a private jet can get you there.

Enjoy flexibility like no other

Chartered vacations lead to the ability to enjoy flexibility like no other. You have a set time, but if you are running late –it is likely your jet will wait for you.

Do you want to extend your vacation? Or perhaps you’d like to get home a little sooner.

Of course, it will all depend on the jet and the pilot’s schedule, but you will find a lot more flexibility when it comes to flying a chartered flight.

Feel safe and secure in the world we live in

Our world is scary these days. With all the terrorism and hateful crimes that are taking place, it makes even the most non-judgmental person, sadly, start automatically profiling when boarding a plane.

Sure, the security lines are long, and the process can be tedious – but that doesn’t mean it is perfect. In fact, there are many reports of guns and other weapons making it through TSA’s airport security without a hitch.

That fact alone makes flying scarier.

By choosing to travel via a charter, you have a better sense of security and safety. You may not know everyone aboard the plane, but your little charter is likely to be less of a prime target due to the lack of transparency.

Feeling a little bit safer in your surroundings today can make any vacation a much more peaceful experience.

Booked vacation packages to please

Do you get stressed out easily when trying to put together a vacation?

Believe it or not, there are some people who are wired in a manner that allows them to plan a perfect itinerary – allowing a destination to be explored and enjoyed.

You can relax and experience all the best of a destination – and do so with the security of a group. Doesn’t that just whisper a serene feeling in your ear?

Imagine not having to worry about making phone calls or sending emails to schedule times and dates with specific tours or shows.

Imagine not having to worry about creating any mishaps in your scheduling. Then again, imagine not having to worry about your travel arrangements at all.

Travel companies that plan these vacations do so with you in mind. They help you select the best destination and then they get to work.

Next to providing your available dates, you don’t lift another finger. Everything from a chartered flight to your accommodations and your sightseeing, cultural inclusion adventure is taken care of.

All you need to do is show up and enjoy yourself.

If planning a vacation is too stressful or the opportunity cost of it all is just not worth it, then pass the torch and have it taken care of for you.

Chartered vacations are not a new trend.

In fact, they have been around for quite some time. What is new, however, is who can afford them. At one time, you had to have a certain level of wealth to travel via a private jet to your destination.

Today, that is not the case at all. Chartered vacations are more affordable than you can imagine and more accessible to the population than ever before.

So, where will you go? Enjoy all the perks that this chartered, pre-arranged travel has in store for you.
