Federal officials are frequently taking to the skies in private jets, but are not tracking the expenses of the trips or the nature of the business that requires them to bypass less expensive commercial flights. At least 395 flights aboard FBI aircraft were for personal travel, even though the federal government has fought many budgetary battles within the last year.
