Various companies are currently working on the latest advancement within the travel industry: the next generation of “supersonic” passenger aircrafts that can fly twice the speed of regular commercial airplanes. While the planes will likely surface in the private and business jet markets first, there is potential for this type of supersonic jet to reach the public market in the future. The aircraft is expected to be able to fly from New York to Los Angeles in under 2.5 hours, flying over 1200 miles per hour.
